On December 15, the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands reached a new agreement on the allocation of the 2026 Northeast Atlantic mackerel quota, setting the total allowable catch (TAC) at 299,010 tonnes—a substantial reduction compared with the 2025 level.
